- hyaluronic acid: naturally-occurring in the body and able to retain water, hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin and maintains its suppleness. Marine collagen is highly regarded for its effectiveness, which is largely due to superior bioavailability and a high content of bioactive peptides.
What’s more, hydrolysing collagen converts overly-large proteins into smaller peptides which are more easily absorbed by the body, for even greater efficacy.
Of course, you can also target the type of collagen best suited to your particular needs. As mentioned above, type 1 collagen is particularly abundant in the skin, tendons, joints, organs and skeletal structure, type 2 in cartilage, and type 3 in muscles, blood vessels and connective tissue. Premium Collagen Shots offers the advantage of combining these 3 essential types of collagen (with a majority of types 1 and 3).
Powdered collagen and drinkable collagen are processed in a similar way in the digestive system, where they are broken down into peptides and amino acids (glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, alanine, etc.) available to generate new collagen.
